“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
- Jesus -
I was just twelve years old
when my dad took me on my first of many trips to the beautiful country of India. I was quickly enamored with all the colors, the life, the culture, and especially the people. The vast contrast from my hometown of Boise, Idaho was astounding. It was on that trip that my heart really opened up to the power of love. I had the beautiful opportunity to spend quality time with some orphan children as well as visit families living in the slums. I was blown away by the joy and love that so many of these individuals had despite their dire circumstances. It was on that initial trip where I learned that life is not about possessions or the job you have or even who you think you are. I learned that life was fulfilled in love. Not just being loved but more importantly giving love. From that point on I would never be the same. I went back to my hometown with a purpose and a calling that has been burning in my soul ever since. We all have one short life to live and than its done. My true hearts cry is that I don’t waste my life just living for myself and my own desires. I pray my life would had purpose and most importantly selfless love. I have a lot to learn but I am so thankful to be on the journey.
